Capabilities
What Odoo POS actually does.
Out of the box, configurable. The five capabilities most POS customers lean on.
-
01
Touch interface
Tablet-first UI tuned for thumb-friendly use, configurable button layout, fast item entry by barcode or search, modifiers and combos for restaurants.
-
02
Offline mode
Sales queue locally when network drops, syncs when connection returns, no transaction lost. Critical for sites with patchy connectivity.
-
03
Payment integration
EFTPOS terminal integration with Tyro, Adyen, Stripe Terminal, Square, Worldline. The POS triggers the terminal, the terminal returns the result, sale journaled with correct tender.
-
04
Restaurant-specific
Table management, course timing, kitchen-display integration, split bills, tip allocation, all configurable per venue.
-
05
End-of-day
Cash-up, EFTPOS reconciliation, journal posting in one workflow. Discrepancies surfaced; not buried.

Frequently asked
Questions about Odoo POS.
How well does offline mode actually work? +
Reliably. Sales, payments, and stock changes queue in the local browser, sync when the connection returns, with conflict resolution we configure to your inventory rules. We test it deliberately during implementation.
What hardware do you recommend? +
iPad or Android tablet (10-inch minimum), Epson TM-T88 receipt printer, Bluetooth or USB barcode scanner, EFTPOS terminal from your acquirer (Tyro for AU is the easiest). We test specific models for your store layout in the first sprint.
Can multiple stores share inventory and customers? +
Yes. Single Odoo with multi-store POS, shared customer database, shared loyalty programme, shared inventory with per-store transfers. Or separate Odoo companies for franchise structures. We configure to your governance.
How does end-of-day reconciliation work? +
Cash-up, EFTPOS report match, variance investigation, journal posting. The session is locked once closed, audit-trail preserved. Front-of-house closes the till; back-office sees the journal.
