Studio
No-code customisation, with discipline.
A drag-drop builder for fields, forms, views, automations, and reports inside Odoo. The right tool when configuration is not enough but a custom module would be overkill. Used carefully, it accelerates internal teams; used carelessly, it becomes the customisation sprawl we usually rescue.
Capabilities
What Odoo Studio actually does.
Out of the box, configurable. The five capabilities most Studio customers lean on.
-
01
Custom fields and views
Add fields to any model, restructure forms, kanban, list, gantt, and pivot views, all without code. Field-level security where it matters.
-
02
Automation rules
When-condition-then triggers on record changes. Send email, update field, create task, notify user, all rules-driven.
-
03
Server actions
Multi-step business-logic flows tied to events. The next step beyond automation rules; the step before custom Python.
-
04
Custom reports
Drag-drop report builder for invoices, quotes, deliveries, and any printable artefact. Branded templates per company.
-
05
Approval workflows
Multi-step approval chains tied to record values, delegations, escalations, all configured in Studio without a developer.

Integrations
Where Odoo Studio plugs in.
Off-the-shelf and custom integrations our customers use most. Anything not listed is buildable; we will scope it cleanly.
- Studio extends Odoo itself; integrations are at the Odoo platform level, not Studio-specific.

Frequently asked
Questions about Odoo Studio.
When should we use Studio versus a custom module? +
Studio for additive changes that fit the existing Odoo data model: extra fields, views, automations, approvals. Custom modules when you are inventing new entities or business logic that needs version control, automated tests, and multi-environment deployment.
Will Studio customisations survive Odoo upgrades? +
Most do, with some attention. Studio writes to the database, not to code, so the upgrade tooling handles it. Edge cases (deeply customised views with deprecated widgets) need a small fix, not a rewrite.
How do we govern Studio so it does not become a mess? +
A Studio governance brief: who can use it (admin role), what categories of change need code review (business-logic and security), where changes are documented (your runbook), and a quarterly review for sprawl. We help your team set this up.
Can Studio talk to external APIs? +
Server actions can call external APIs in limited ways. For real integration work we build a proper Odoo module; Studio is for what stays within Odoo.
