Does Odoo handle revenue recognition for subscriptions? +
Yes. Deferred revenue accounting with monthly recognition over the subscription term, manual or automated, configured to your accounting policy. ASC 606 and AASB 15 aligned.
How do upgrades and prorations work? +
Mid-cycle upgrades trigger a one-off charge for the prorated difference, downgrades trigger a credit note. The customer sees the math, the accountant sees the journal.
Can we run usage-based billing? +
Yes, with configuration. Usage events captured via API, aggregated against the subscription, billed at cycle end with overage charges and tier-step pricing.
What about Stripe-specific features (Smart Retries, automatic tax)? +
Smart Retries and card-update services are configured at the Stripe end and respected by Odoo. Stripe Tax can drive sales-tax calculation; we configure the integration to keep Odoo as the system of record for the customer.
