Questions about Odoo MRP.
Process manufacturing as well as discrete? +
Both. Recipes with yields, by-products, and co-products for process; BoMs with operations and routings for discrete. Same Odoo, configured differently.
How does Odoo MRP compare to a dedicated APS? +
Dedicated APS still wins for highly-constrained finite scheduling at scale (think automotive paint shops, complex packaging lines). For 80% of mid-market manufacturers Odoo MRP is enough; for the other 20% we integrate.
Can we do shop-floor data collection on a tablet? +
Yes. Tablet UI for the work centre, barcode scan to start and finish, offline-capable, syncs when connection returns.
What about engineering change management? +
BoM versioning with effective dates handles minor revisions. Major engineering changes are an Odoo Project tied to PLM-style document control. We have shipped this for regulated manufacturers.
